Castleton's Tyler Carpenter scored three touchdowns on the ground and caught another as the Spartans defeated Maritime 35-16 in the league's first conference game of the year. The senior running back rushed for 69 yards on 16 carries and cuaght eight balls for 65 yards as Castleton earned their first ever victory over the Privateers. This was just the second non-conference loss for Maritime in three seasons.
Gallaudet used three return touchdowns to earn a 35-7 victory over the Apprentice School marking the 11th non-conference victory for ECFC members. Senior defensive back Tony Tatum scored on a six-yard fumble return and a 75-yard punt return to put the Bison up 14-0 early in the second quarter. Tobais Canterbury returned a blocked punt for a touchdown in the third to build Gallaudet at 35-0 lead before allowing a late touchdown.
Five teams have byes this week as they prepare for league play next Saturday.
