History was made Friday night as Gallaudet University stunned Catholic University of America with a 47-27 victory before a crowd of 1,243 at Cardinal Stadium. The win is the first for the Bison over the Cardinals in the 106-year history of the rivalry between the two D.C. schools.

The Maritime Privateer football team opened the 2012 season with a dramatic 20-14 victory over rival Massachusetts Maritime Friday night on a 19-yard touchdown pass with 20 seconds to go in the fourth.

On Saturday, six ECFC schools are in non-conference action. Games start at noon as Castleton travels to Endicott. The Gulls finished 10-1 last season defeating ECFC member Mount Ida 31-22 in the ECAC North Atlantic Bowl.

Five games kick off at 1:00 pm Saturday. Becker travels to MIT while Mount Ida is on the road at Plymouth State and Norwich journeys to the North Country to meet St. Lawrence.

Anna Maria faces Maine Maritime in their 2012 home opener while Husson awaits Springfield.
