OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kris Sabourin,
Norwich
(Sr, QB - Georgia, Vt.)
Sabourin totaled 302 yards of offense for Norwich in
Saturday's 50-21 win against Anna Maria. The senior quarterback
threw for three touchdowns and 143 yards on 11-18 attempts.
Sabourin also ran for 159 yards and a touchdown on 13
carries.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dellon Douglas,
Husson
(Sr, DL - Patterson, N.J.)
Douglas forced two of the eight fumbles by Maritime in
Husson's 17-14 overtime win Saturday. The senior defensive lineman
totaled nine tackles, six of which were solo tackles along with a
sack for a loss of five yards and two tackles totaling a loss of
six yards. Douglas was the leading Husson tackler against
Maritime.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mick Wong,
Castleton
(Jr, LB - Hartford, Vt.)
Wong made his presence felt all over the field, but it was
his work on special teams that helped propel the Spartans to the
28-20 victory over Gallaudet down in Washington D.C. on Saturday.
After a Bison touchdown put them up 20-7, Wong managed to get
around the edge to block the extra point try. Then with 1:32 left
in the third and Castleton clinging to a 21-20 lead, Wong blocked a
33-yard field goal to keep Gallaudet from scoring once again. He
also finished the day with seven tackles and six of the solo
variety as the Spartans improved to 5-0 in the ECFC.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Reece Attard,
Husson
(Fr, K/P - Werribee, Australia)
Reece had by far his best game of his first season at Husson
on Saturday against Maritime. Attard punted 8 times for the Eagles,
totaling 360 yards for an average of 45 yards per-kick. Reece
booted a 57-yard punt, pinned one inside the 20 and another for a
touchback. Attard hit both extra points on Husson's touchdowns and
although he missed a field goal earlier in the game, he stepped up
in overtime to drill a 43-yard, school record setting, game winning
field goal.
