Maritime Head Coach Kendrick-Holmes To Serve On NCAA D-III National Football Committee Once Again

THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (August 13, 2012) – Maritime College Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations and head football coach Clayton Kendrick-Holmes has been called to serve on the NCAA Division III National Football Committee. The post is a four-year assignment and Kendrick-Holmes previously served on the committee for two years prior to his mobilization with the U.S. Naval Reserve in 2010. He will be rotating back into the role for the final two years of the original assignment.

"The NCAA has been good to me in regards to my Navy duties and I am thankful that they have allowed me to return to the committee to finish my term,” commented Kendrick-Holmes. “I am excited about serving Division III Football on the national level and representing the ECFC and Maritime College over the next two seasons."

In this national role, Kendrick-Holmes will monitor all D-III teams during the season and narrow down the top teams by the end of the season. He will have a particular focus on East Region teams that deserve consideration for the national championship bracket. He will also help select the 32 teams for the national playoff, set the bracket and supervise and administrate the games, including the national championship.

One coach and one administrator from each of the four regions make up the national committee with Brad Bankston, the Commissioner of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, serving as the chair of the committee.

Kendrick-Holmes had also served as a member of the Regional Advisory Committee for Division III Football for the past two seasons. In that role, he ranked the East Region and worked with the Football Committee on the regional level.
