Senior Shane Brozowski was on the mark on Saturday as he hit
the 400-yard mark for the eighth time in his career leading the
Spartans to their first-ever victory over Plymouth St., 35-7.
Brozowski finished 22-for-35 for 400 yards, four touchdowns and no
interceptions in the contest, his fourth career game with at least
400 yards and four touchdowns.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Melvin Booker,
Becker
(Jr, LB - Roxbury, Mass.)
Booker played a pivotal role in the Hawks 13-3 win over
Fitchburg State on Friday night. Booker had 12 tackles, three of
them for a loss and added two key sacks and two forced
fumbles.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bobby Hemmann, Mount
Ida

With 1:39 remaining in the fourth quarter of play, Mount Ida
College football senior kicker Bobby Hemmann (Newington,
CT/Newington) converted a 47 yard field goal attempt propelling the
Mustangs to a 24-21 non-conference victory over visiting
UMASS-Darmouth Friday evening in the 2012 season opener in Newton,
Massachusetts. It was the first game ever played on Alumni Field,
Mount Ida's new state-of-the-art turf stadium just recently
completed this summer turning out to be a memorable day for all
involved in the "Light the Night" kick-off event in the college's
first ever night game.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Reece Attard,
Husson
(Fr, K/P - Werribee, Australia)
Attard had nine punts for 369 yards, for an average of 41
yards per punt and a long of 60. The freshman pinned a punt from
within the 50 on the 10 yd line. Attard was also 2-2 on extra
points.
