Gallaudet football to host Pro Day for Adham Talaat on Wednesday, April 9

WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University football team will host a Pro Day on Wednesday, April 9, for former Bison football standout Adham Talaat (Springfield, Va.), who is scheduled to workout for National Football League (NFL) scouts. The on-field portion of the event, beginning at approximately 10:50 a.m. at Hotchkiss Field, will be open to the public. Fans are requested to sit in the stands or stand against the fence, there will be no field access.

The day kicks off at 10 a.m. with measurements and physical testing taking place in the weight room, where Talaat will be measured and tested in the bench press and vertical jump. Immediately following the conclusion of the weight room testing, Talaat will make his way to Hotchkiss Field where he will perform broad jumps, 40-yard dashes, agility tests and position tests. The outside portion is slated to last until 12:30 p.m.

Talaat, a NFL prospect, graduates as the most decorated Bison in football program history. This past fall, he was named a top 10 finalist for the Gagliardi Trophy, given to the most outstanding football player in NCAA Division III and a finalist for the Cliff Harris Award, awarded to the top small college defensive player each year. He was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America first-team, the first Bison to receive the first-team honor, he also became the first to earn Academic All-America recognition two years in a row. He also earned a spot on the 2013 D3football.com All-American defense as an honorable mention pick. In addition, Talaat received All-Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) defense first-team honors and was named to the D3football.com All-East region second team defense.

Although Talaat was double and triple-teamed in every game, he finished the season with 46 total tackles (26 solo) averaging 4.2 tackles per game. Talaat also recorded five sacks for loss of 42 yards and had one fumble recovery.

Talaat played a great role on the Gallaudet University football team that became the first men's team to make an NCAA tournament appearance. Talaat helped the Bison win their first ECFC championship as they tied a school record nine wins in a season and set two new records with an 11-game winning streak dating back to the 2012 season and 11 games played in a single season.
