CASTLETON, Vt. – Castleton College Dean of Administration Scott Dikeman is pleased to announce that Tony Volpone will be introduced as the third head football coach in Castleton history at a press conference on Thursday, Mar. 13 at 12:30 p.m.

"To stand out among nearly 200 candidates really speaks to the kind of person Coach Volpone is," said Dikeman, who chaired the search committee. "There were a lot of candidates who could coach football, but Coach Volpone hits the mark in every area we were looking. He's a great fit and we are excited to get him on campus in time for spring football and hit the ground running."

Volpone has spent the past seven seasons at Endicott College as associate head coach and offensive coordinator, and was instrumental in transitioning the program from a three-win team in his first season to a perennial power in the New England region.

In his time at Endicott the offense broke many program records, broke or tied eleven NEFC records, recorded six All-America nominations, three ECAC All-Star selections, 31 All-Conference selections, four Academic All-Americans, two NEFC Rookie of the Year award-winners, and a NEFC and ECAC Player of the Year award-winner.

Volpone brings 15 years of coaching experience along with his wife Aida and young son Charlie to the Castleton community.
