Maritime suffered their first conference loss Saturday while Husson and Gallaudet remain unbeaten. The two teams will square off in Washington, D.C. next Saturday.
Junior running back Al Georgio ran for 161 yards and three touchdowns to lead Norwich to a 42-21 victory over SUNY Maritime on Saturday afternoon on Sabine Field at Haynes Family Stadium. Norwich scored 22 unanswered points led by two Georgio touchdowns in the second half, to rally to its second conference victory of the season.
Husson scored the game winning touchdown with 1:09 remaining to defeat Becker 19-18 and remain unbeaten in the ECFC. The Eagles 13 unanswered points in the first quarter matched and bested by Becker's 18 fourth-quarter points to set up the winning drive for the Eagles at home.
Gallaudet ran into the record book Saturday with a 38-12 victory over Castleton. The Bison racked up a season best 480 rushing yards on 72 attempts (average 6.7 yards per carry) and won its sixth straight game to give GU its best start in school history as a varsity program.
Mount Ida used a balance offensive attack and racked up over 500 yards of offense on Saturday as the Mustangs scored a 56-34 victory over Anna Maria at Alumni Field. Mount Ida, who rushed for nearly three hundred yards, also saw quarterback Jawad Yatim throw for over two hundred more, while accounting for four touchdowns on the day, two of them through the air.
