KILLINGWORTH, CONN. – The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) announced its 2022 preseason poll on Tuesday as voted by the league's seven head coaches.
Reigning ECFC league champions, Anna Maria College, earned the top spot with 45 points and five first-place votes. Alfred State College came in second with 39 points and one first-place vote while Castleton University was slated third with 34 total points. Dean College garnered the final first-place vote and 30 total points to capture the fourth-place slot, while Gallaudet University came in at fifth with 26 points. Maritime College collected 19 points for the sixth spot, while Keystone college rounded out the poll at seventh with 9 points.

The season officially kicks off on Friday, September 2 with Dean taking on Fitchburg State. On the following day, Alfred State, Castleton, Gallaudet, Maritime, and Keystone take on nonconference opponents to begin their seasons. Anna Maria will begin their quest to defend their title on Saturday, September 10 as they take on UMass-Dartmouth.
League play begins Saturday, October 1 and runs through mid-November. The ECFC champion will receive an automatic berth to the NCAA postseason.
The conference Media Day is scheduled for Tuesday, August 30 and will include season previews of all seven member institutions.
