Anna Maria Takes Down Dean, 52-20

FRANKLIN, MA —The Anna Maria College Football team traveled to Franklin, MA on Saturday, October 22nd to take on the Dean College Bulldogs for an Eastern Collegiate Football Conference matchup. The AMCATS won the game 52-20.

The AMCATS opened up the scoring in the first two minutes of the game when Deandre Wallace ran in the teams first touchdown of the day off a 48 yard pass from Ryan Russell. The AMCATS would end up back on the board just two minutes later after they got two points off a team safety. Davien Atkinson was the next AMCAT to score with just 3 minutes left In the first quarter, off a 14 yard pass from Russell. The AMCATS would get yet another team safety just a minute later making it an 18-0 game as the first quarter came to a close.

The Bulldogs finally ended their silence just four minutes into the second quarter, but the AMCATS would be quick to answer back as Justin Brown scored on a 73 yard run. Battling back and forth, the Bulldogs would score again just a minute later. Still leading 25-14 over the Bulldogs, Brown would run in a 42 yard touchdown for his second of the quarter. The Bulldogs remained un deterred as Andrew Liverman scored a 78 yard kickoff return to make it a 32-20 game. This would be last time the Bulldogs would make it up on the board as the AMCATS responded just seconds later with a touchdown from Kevin Acosta Jr off a 54 yard pass from Russell. The AMCATS then added some insurance at the end of the second quarter as Atkinson scored off a 33 yard pass from Russell to make it a 45-20 game going into halftime.

An uneventful third quarter would end up scoreless for both sides leading into the fourth and final quarter. Seven minutes into the fourth quarter the AMCATS would add some insurance to their lead as Wallace scored off a 94 yard pass from Russell. The AMCATS could then close out the game over the Bulldogs 52-20.

-Ryan Russell went 13 for 20 with 307 yards and 5 touchdowns.

-Deandre Wallace led the AMCATS receiving with 181 yards and 2 touchdowns. 

-Wallace scored his third 90+ yard touchdown of his career.

-Darren Watson had 4 tackles, 2 PBU's and 1 interception.
