Dean Bested By Curry, 47-14

MILTON, Mass. - The Dean College Bulldogs football team dropped a non-conference game at Curry College, 47-14, on Saturday at Walter M. Katz field.

With the loss, Dean drops to 1-5 on the season, while Curry improves to 2-3. 

Curry opened the scoring two and a half minutes into the game when Lucas Leander hauled in a 24 yard touchdown pass from Dallas Murphy. The Colonels tacked on a 38 yard field goal from Trevor Swanbeck to extend their lead to 10-0 at the end of the first. 

Ten minutes of scoreless action opened the second quarter, before a Swanbeck field goal with four minutes to play increased the Colonel lead to 13. Curry piled on two quick touchdowns at the end of the half, both on Montie Quinn runs, to head into the halftime break up 27-0. 

The hosts added a rushing touchdown from Hunter Telesco, a 60 yard touchdown catch by Joe Fusaro from Michael Moriart, and a 26 yard interception returned for a touchdown by Pete Jurovich to take control in the third quarter.

The Bulldogs battled back in the fourth, scoring two touchdowns to trim the deficit. Dean's first score came on a 37 yard grab by Dy'riece Smith (Boston, Mass.) from Isaac Sisneros (Littleton, Colo.). The touchdown capped a six play 58-yard drive. Late in the game, Dean executed an eight play 90-yard drive for their final score, punctuated with a two-yard touchdown run by DJ Fahie (Holliston, Mass.) 

Sisneros finished 8-23 for 123 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions, while also adding 52 yards rushing. Aaron Wehmeyer (Denver, Colo.) paced the ground attack for Dean with 42 yards on 12 carries. 

Austin Roy (Blackstone, Mass.) led the Bulldogs defense with 9 tackles and a sack, while Dre Kidd (Manassas, Va.) added six tackles an interception.

Dean is off next week for their bye and will return to action on Saturday October 21st when they host Anna Maria for their Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) opener as part of Dean's homecoming weekend.
