2022 ECFC Weekly Release — Week #9

KILLINGWORTH, Conn. — The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) has released its weekly award winners for games played through Saturday, October 29.

The following student-athletes have been honored for their standout performances.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Aidan Nunez (Carmel, N.Y.), Maritime (N.Y.), Sr., QB
  • Led the Privateers to a 30-19 victory over Dean in his first collegiate start
  • Recorded the first 400-yard passing game in program history (26-42, 61.9%, 405 yards, 9.6 yards per pass, 2 TDs, 1 INT)
  • Both of his passing touchdowns went for 45 yards or more 
  • Set career highs for yards, completion percentage, yards per pass, and touchdowns

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jacob Hartman (Petersburg, W.Va.), Gallaudet, So., LB
  • Paced the Bison with six tackles (5 solo) in their 27-13 win over Anna Maria
  • Also recorded two sacks and three quarterback hurries, one of which led to an interception
  • His first sack resulted in a safety and a 12-0 lead at the time for Gallaudet (2nd, 12:49)
  • Hartman's sack and quarterback hurry totals were career-highs

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Noah Crossman (North Chittenden, Vt.), Castleton, Sr., K/P
  • Scored a conference-best seven points among all kickers on the week
  • Went 4-for-4 on PATs and buried a 21-yard field in Castleton's 37-13 win over Alfred State
  • Compiled 378 yards on seven kickoffs (54.0 average)
  • Had one punt for 51 yards, which was downed on the Pioneers' 13-yard line

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Andrae Green (Washington, D.C.), Gallaudet, Fr., DB
  • Registered two tackles and two interceptions, including a pick-six, for the Bison
  • His 30-yard house call gave Gallaudet a 10-0 lead in the first quarter (3:33)
  • Picked off a pass in the end zone on Anna Maria's final drive of the contest with 52-seconds remaining to seal the victory
  • Shut down one of the AMCATS' best receivers to a career-low yardage total

About the ECFC

The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference was formed in the spring of 2009 as an NCAA Division III single-sport football conference. The conference, named after the geographic location of the institutions began competition in the fall of 2009.

Current members are Alfred State College (Alfred, NY), Anna Maria College (Worcester, MA), Castleton University (Castleton, VT.), Dean College (Franklin, MA), Gallaudet University (Washington, D.C.), Keystone College (La Plume, PA), and Maritime College State University of New York (Throggs Neck, NY).

The mission of the conference is to:

  1. Promote intercollegiate varsity football as an integral part of the educational experience of all competitors. 
  2. Establish a conference schedule and determine a conference championship that will represent the conference as the automatic qualifier to the NCAA national tournament.
  3. Adopt sportsmanship, fair play, moral integrity, and competitive excellence as cornerstones of the conference.
