Winter conditions backdrop for ECFC Week 9

With weather conditions that could set records for snowfall, ECFC conference play continued in Week 9.

Jamie Spanopoulos led the Privateers with 162 yards rushing and two touchdowns as Maritime moved to 5-0 in conference play defeating Husson 34-13. The Eagles scored on a Godfrey Taylor 55 yd kickoff return with :03 remaining in the first half and on a Jack Hersom 12 yd pass from Kash Keezer with :02 left in the contest.

Norwich duo of Kris Sabourin and Andrew Fulford each ran for 100 yards and two scores as the Cadets beat Anna Maria 45-24. AMCAT quarterback Santino Simone threw for three touchdowns and 157 yards in the loss.

Victories by Maritime and Norwich sets up a showdown with the leagues two unbeaten teams next week in Throggs Neck, N.Y.

Gallaudet ran past Castleton 59-40 amassing 532 yards rushing. Quentin Williams led the Bison on the ground with 234 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Spartan quarterback Shane Brozowski threw for 290 yards and three scores but was intercepted twice.

Mount Ida used two Scott Drosendahl touchdowns and a Jovan Wilkins 62 yd kickoff return to hold off Becker 22-6.
