Maritime got on the board first on the opening drive of the game, when Jean rushed 25 yards to the end zone and Leary's PAT was good to put the Privateers ahead, 7-0, at 12:28. The drive was just five plays and 63 yards long. Leary's first field goal, the 41-yarder, came with 51 seconds remaining in the first quarter and put Maritime up 10-0.

The Privateers scored 10 more in the second quarter on a 28-yard field goal by Leary and a six-yard run by Spanopoulos that gave Maritime a 20-0 lead with 13 seconds remaining in the half. However, Husson found some life, as freshman Godfrey Taylor returned the ensuing kickoff 55 yards for a touchdown and the Eagles scored a quick seven points to go into the locker room down just 20-7.

In the second half, Spanopoulos ran home a five-yard run at 9:47 of the fourth quarter to put Maritime ahead 27-7. Bigham took over at fullback and ran in a one-yard TD to close out the Privateers' scoring. Husson added one more touchdown on a 12-yard pass from junior Kash Keezer to senior Jack Hersom.

Maritime picked up 381 yards of offense on Saturday and held the Eagles to just 183.
