Castleton quarterback Shane Brozowski threw for 458 yards and seven touchdowns as the Spartans defeated conference foe Anna Maria 56-52 in the ECFC opener for both teams. The fourth quarter featured six touchdowns and six lead changes with the final score coming with just 15 seconds remaining as Brozowski found Adam Farmer for the 4 yard touchdown.
Norwich defeated Becker 38-20 in today's other conference game. The Cadets were led by the rushing duo of Andrew Fulford and Derrick Pitts who combined for 233 yards on the ground and two touchdowns.
In other action, Gallaudet jumped out to a 14-3 lead on Apprentice School in Newport News, Va and hung for the win. Michael Hantge had 72 yards on the ground and a touchdown for the Bison.
Mount Ida's Johrone Bunch caught a 10 yd pass from Scott Drosendahl with less than six minutes to go in the game to defeat Hartwick 7-3.
In Maine, Husson lost to #13 ranked Wesley 72-0. The
Wolverines, who jumped out to a 34-0 lead after the first
quarter, held the Eagles to -15 yards rushing.
Maritime was on a bye this week.
