Johrone Bunch, Mount Ida
(Sr, RB - Meriden, CT)
On senior day, Mount Ida College football senior running back
Johrone Bunch (Meriden, CT/F.T. Maloney) haunted visiting Eastern
Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) member Castleton State
College with 219 rushing yards and four touchdowns en route to a
54-34 league victory Saturday afternoon on a blustery day in
Newton, Massachusetts. Bunch also tied his own record for rushing

throughout his career (2009, 2010, and 2011).
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ernest Wiggins,
Husson
(So, DL - Bridgeport, CT)
Ernest Wiggins led the Husson defense with 15 solo tackles in the
Eagles' nail-biting defeat to Anna Maria in the final game of the
season for both teams. Wiggins also notched a sack and a tackle for
loss, and was credited with a safety when his pressure forced the
visiting quarterback to ground the ball intentionally from inside
his own endzone.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Madison Leary,
Maritime (N.Y.)
(Sr, K/P - Tavares, Fla./Tavares)
Leary was a perfect 3-for-3 in PATs for the Privateers in their
21-14 road victory at Gallaudet on Friday night. He was also
instrumental in setting up Maritime's first score, as he kicked a
surprise on-side kick to start the second half and then recovered
that kick to give the Privateers possession. Maritime would go on
to score on that drive. On three kickoffs, the 6-4, 205-pounder
averaged 51.3 yards, while also averaging 34.0 yards on four punts
and landing three of the punts inside the Bison's 20-yard line.
Leary finishes his collegiate career with virtually all of the
Privateers' program kicking records.
