OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Spanopoulos led all players with 127 rushing yards on Saturday in
Maritime's 31-29 home win over Mount Ida. The 5-8, 233-pound
fullback had 25 touches on the day for an average of 5.1 yards per
carry. He found the end zone twice, including what turned out to be
the game-winning touchdown on a nine-yard rush with 4:25 to go in
the fourth quarter that gave the Privateers a 31-23 lead after the
PAT.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Matt Harris,
Gallaudet
(So, LB - Lynchburg, Va.)
Harris set a Gallaudet program record with his seven sack
performance against Becker College as the Bison won 44-20 on
Homecoming before a season record crowd of 3,854 at Hotchkiss
Field. Harris sacked Becker quarterback Robert Baker seven times
for a loss of 49 yards to set the single-game sack record for the
Bison. He finished the game with eight tackles.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Greg Caneparo,
Maritime (N.Y.)
(Fr, KR - Nanuet, N.Y./Nanuet)
In just his third game after taking over the primary returning
duties, Caneparo amassed 149 yards on six kickoff returns for an
average of 24.8 yards per return in the Privateers' 31-29 home
victory over Mount Ida on Saturday. The 5-7, 155-pound freshman had
two long returns in the game, the first was a 59-yard return in the
first quarter that gave Maritime possession in the Mustangs' red
zone and the second came in the fourth quarter, a 43-yard return
that started the Privateers on Mount Ida's side of the field.
Maritime wound up scoring the eventual game-winning touchdown on
that drive.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Quentin Williams,
Gallaudet
(Fr, RB/QB - Chesapeake, Va.)
Williams made his first collegiate start at quarterback for
Gallaudet University last Saturday on Homecoming and didn't
disappoint as he ran in two touchdowns and threw for a third score
in the 44-20 rout of Becker College before 3,854 at Hotchkiss
Field. Williams ran the ball 25 times for a career-high 138 yards
(5.5 yards per carry) and scored two touchdowns. He scored on a
55-yard run, a career best, in the second half to help secure the
win for the Bison. He completed 3-of-10 passes for 59 yards and one
touchdown on a 27-yard pass while being picked off twice and sacked
once.
