OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Tyler Carpenter, Castleton
(Jr, RB - Fort Edward, N.Y.)
Carpenter rushed the Spartans to a 56-28 win over Becker this week, piling up 171 yards on 26 carries. The junior also ran for a program-record four touchdowns, including three-straight in the second half as the game hung in the balance. Carpenter also had three catches for 38 yards, including an 18 yard touchdown in the first half. On the day, the junior accounted for over 200 yards of offense and five touchdowns.

 

Co-DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Jeremy Garcia, Maritime (N.Y.)
(Jr, DB - Suffern, N.Y./Suffern)
As time ran out in the first quarter, Garcia returned a fumble recovery 18 yards for Maritime's first defensive score of the year in the Privateers' 34-13 Homecoming win over Anna Maria on Saturday. The 5-5, 152-pounder also recorded one tackle in the game and was completely lights out on pass coverage, as there were no completed passes against him helping limit the league's second ranked passing attack to just 13 completions and 121 yards.

 



Stephen Gilmore, Norwich
(So, LB - Norton, Massachusetts)
Gilmore led a Cadet defensive unit that limited Gallaudet's offense to 152 yards rushing and only 79 through the air. The sophomore linebacker posted a tackle for loss in addition to 10 tackles on the day while playing a key role for Cadets' defense that limited the Bison to eight drives of four plays or less during the 10-7 win comeback win.

 

 

 

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Sean Wiggers, Maritime (N.Y.)
(Sr, DB - Norwood, N.J./Northern Valley Old Tappan)
Wiggers blocked two Anna Maria punts in the Privateers' 34-13 Homecoming victory over the AMCATs on Saturday. One led to Maritime taking over just outside the red zone. The 5-11, 181-pounder also recorded two tackles on the day and saw action on the kickoff, kickoff return and field goal teams.

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Kevin Card, Anna Maria
(Fr, LB - Deer Park, NY)
Card had a career high day on defense on Saturday afternoon in a 34-13 ECFC loss to Maritime College. Card had 17 of the teams 55 unassisted tackles. Card finished the day with 18 total tackles, 2 tackles for a loss (18.0 yards) and a sack.
