MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) weekly awards were announced for games through Sunday, September 12th. Alfred State’s Shy’rel Broadwater (Syracuse, N.Y.) took home Offensive Player of the Week honors. Anna Maria’s Armstrong Antoine (Stratford, Conn.) earned Defensive Player of the Week, while his teammates Harold Beckford (Cambridge, Mass.) and Ryan Kent (Marlton, N.J.) were named Rookie of the Week and Special Teams Player of the Week, respectively.

Offensive Player of the Week

Shy'rel Broadwater - Alfred State
(Sophomore, WR – Syracuse, N.Y.)

Broadwater had a big day for the Pioneers vs. Rochester. He caught nine passes for 249 yards and two scores. He caught TD passes of 25 and 53 yards in the 4th quarter. His 249 yards receiving is the most in the ASC NCAA era.

Defensive Player of the Week

Armstrong Antoine – Anna Maria College
(Senior, DB - Stratford, Conn.)

The senior defensive back exploded out of the gate for the AMCATS in their season opener against Nichols, picking off an interception and returning it 70 yards for a touchdown pick-six. He also broke up two passes and finished with five tackles.

Rookie of the Week

Harold Beckford – Anna Maria College
(Sophomore, WR - Cambridge, Mass.)

In his first collegiate game, Beckford put on a show, recording six receptions totaling 116 yards and one touchdown in Anna Maria's season opener against Nichols. Beckford's 86 yard touchdown reception with 10:17 to go in the second quarter put the AMCATS ahead 17-0 at that point.

Special Teams Player of the Week

Ryan Kent – Anna Maria College
(Sophomore, K - Marlton, N.J.)

Kent was perfect on the day in Anna Maria's season opener against Nichols, going three-for-three on field goals and two-for-two on extra points, totaling 11 points. He also averaged 51.3 yards on six kickoffs.
