Gallaudet Earns ECFC's Helmet Bowl Title

WASHINGTON - For the fourth straight year, Gallaudet University has made it into the field of 64 in the national Helmet Bowl championship online voting competition. The Bison won their fourth consecutive Helmet Bowl conference championship last week as the buff and blue Bison helmet will represent the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) once again.

Voting for the Helmet Bowl IV championship began today with a field of 64 teams in 32 different opening round matchups. Fans can vote daily for one week to determine who will advance to the second round. You can use all of your devices and browsers as you vote daily. Each round of voting ends on Mondays at 1 p.m. (Eastern).

GU is the No. 3 seed in the West Region and is going up against Central College the No. 14 seed. The winner will advance to take on either Campbell (No. 6 seed) or Arizona Christian (No. 11 seed) in the second round.

Gallaudet, the first Helmet Bowl national champions (2017), advanced to the Final Four last year (2019) and the Sweet 16 round in 2018. 

The ECFC was the 10th leading conference in online voting during the conference voting period during the month of November. There were 781 teams from 78 conferences in the conference voting period and the 781 teams have been trimmed down to 64.
