THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (June 18, 2014) – Last Friday, June 13, Maritime football defensive coordinator Vincent DiGaetano was out and about once again, promoting a #BetterSaferGame for USA Football and its Heads Up Football initiative by helping the New York Giants host a Moms Football Safety Clinic at their training facility in East Rutherford, N.J.
In this video on the NFL website, DiGaetano is featured as he teaches mothers how to make proper tackles with the rip technique and by keeping the head up and out of the tackle. In this particular drill, DiGaetano was joined by former NFL player Brian Baldinger, and the idea was to help mothers understand how their children should be tackling. There were also session on heat and hydration and concussions and proper equipment fitting, among many others throughout the day, which helped the mothers learn more about the game their children love to play.
