ECFC Weekly Honors for November 5, 2012

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Brandon Boyle, Castleton
(Jr, WR - Springfield, Vt.)
Boyle was dominant once again, catching nine passes for 221 yards and tying a career high with three touchdowns. He averaged 24.6 yards yards per catch and had three catches that were 38 yards or longer. Boyle had Castleton's first three touchdowns, with the final giving the Spartans a 21-14 lead it wouldn't relinquish. The junior currently leads the NCAA in receiving yards per game (149.9) and touchdowns (17).

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Christopher McCarthy, Becker

Chris McCarthy had a career high 14 tackles in a 27-7 win over Anna Maria On Saturday. McCarthy added two sacks and three tackles for a loss.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Dave Fox, Castleton
(So, K - Troy, N.Y.)
Fox was steady for Castleton in its 34-14 victory over Husson. He accounted for ten points on the afternoon, hitting a pair of field goals and connecting on all four of his extra point attempts. Fox also had four kickoffs that went for at least 55 yards to keep the Eagles from getting good field position.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

BJ Flores, Gallaudet
(Fr, RB - Raymondville, Texas)
Flores scored the game-winning touchdown for Gallaudet University last Saturday as the Bison defeated Mount Ida College for the first time in program history. Flores scampered in from 38 yards out with 1:48 left in the third quarter to give GU a 29-14 advantage. The Bison hung on to win 29-22 in the final home regular season game. Flores was Gallaudet's leading rusher with 95 yards on 15 carries and one score (avg. 6.3 per carry).
