OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Johrone Bunch, Mount Ida College
(So., RB - Meriden, CT/F.T. Maloney)
Mount Ida College sophomore running back Johrone Bunch set a program record with five touchdowns in a game paired with 351 yards rushing on 37 carries in a 39-7 rout against Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) member Castleton State College. Bunch's performance was the highest rushing total of the season out of all NCAA division III programs in the country so far this season.

 

 

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Kevin Allen, Gallaudet University
(Freshman, DL - Houston, Texas/Bellaire)
Allen came up with a key fumble recovery for Gallaudet University in the fourth quarter as the Bison went on a game-winning drive to defeat Husson University 10-7 at home. Allen made seven tackles in the game, second highest on the team, and recorded the only sack in the game. He also had one tackle for a loss of seven yards. Allen helped the Bison defense hold the Eagles to 100 yards rushing as Gallaudet caused three turnovers.

 

 

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Justin Wilson, Gallaudet University
(Senior, K/P - Phoenix, Ariz./Del Campo)
Wilson made a 31-yard field goal and one extra-point as Gallaudet University defeated Husson University, 10-7. Wilson also made seven punts for 204 yard (29.1 average), a long of 41 yards and one punt inside the 20 yard line. Wilson also made three kickoffs for 192 yards (64 average per kick).

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Travis Scott, Maritime
(Freshman, RB - Pace, Fla./Pace )
Scott came in early for the Privateers, scoring the first two touchdowns of his career back-to-back in the first quarter of the win over Anna Maria on Saturday. A 1-yard run at 5:08 gave Maritime a 20-0 advantage, then he broke loose for a 29-yard run to the house with 44 second left in the opening period to put the Privateers up 27-0. The 5-10, 162-pounder amassed 43 yards on the ground on just four carries for an average of 10.8 yards per carry.
