Twenty ECFC Student-Athletes Earn CSC Academic All-District® Honors

KILLINGWORTH, Conn. — Twenty Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) student-athletes have received College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® honors for their outstanding academic and athletic achievements.

To be eligible for CSC Academic honors, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at their current institution, and be nominated by their athletic communicator/sports information director. 

New for 2023-24, student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests played or must start in at least 66 percent of the games/contests/matches.

Vermont State Castleton led the ECFC with eight honorees, the maximum number of nominations allowed for the CSC Academic All-District® program.

The CSC Academic All-America® Football Teams will be announced on January 23, 2024.

About the ECFC

The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference was formed in the spring of 2009 as an NCAA Division III single-sport football conference. The conference, named after the geographic location of the institutions began competition in the fall of 2009.

Current members are Alfred State College (Alfred, NY), Anna Maria College (Worcester, MA), Dean College (Franklin, MA), Gallaudet University (Washington, D.C.), and Vermont State Castleton (Castleton, VT.)

The mission of the conference is to:

  1. Promote intercollegiate varsity football as an integral part of the educational experience of all competitors. 
  2. Establish a conference schedule and determine a conference champion that will represent the conference as the automatic qualifier to the NCAA national tournament.
  3. Adopt sportsmanship, fair play, moral integrity, and competitive excellence as cornerstones of the conference.
