AMCATs Land Three on NEFWA All-New England Team
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Thirty-one conference all-stars representing 19 schools from the six New England Division II and III football playing conferences have been selected to the 2023 New England Football Writers Association All-New England team. The team, selected by a committee of representatives from the six conferences, honors the best Division II and III players by position in New England from the 2023 season.
 
The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) had three players highlighted on this years All-New England Team, with Anna Maria solidifying all three spots. Deandre Wallace (Waterbury, Conn.) was honored as a NEFWA All-New England wide receiver, while AMCAT teammates Lamar Wilkes (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Max Cyr (Middletown, Conn.) were honored at the Defensive Back and Offensive Line positions, respectively.
 
The team will be honored at the New England Football Writers Captains and Awards Banquet on Thursday, December 7, at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel and Conference Center. Reservations must be made no later than Friday, December 1, and may be made online HERE.
 
Wallace was given the nod after leading the ECFC in receiving yards per game with 113.6, which ranked 10th in the nation. He also hauled in a league-leading 12 touchdowns for the AMCATs.
 
Wilkes earned his way onto the NEFW All-New England Team as a DB after being a force in the secondary for the AMCATs. Wilkes was tied for first in the nation in interceptions with seven in just nine games.
 
Cyr earned NEFW recognition after being honored as the ECFC Offensive Lineman of the Year for a dominant Anna Maria offense. He anchored an offense that compiled 4,593 total yards, leading the ECFC in that category and ranking No. 8 in the nation in total offense per game (511.9 avg).
