2023 ECFC Weekly Release — Week #11

KILLINGWORTH, Conn. — The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) has released its weekly award winners for games played through Saturday, November 11.

The following student-athletes have been honored for their standout performances.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ryan Russell (West Springfield, Mass.), Anna Maria, Jr., QB
  • Led the AMCATs offense going 15-25 with 262 yards and four TDs
  • Finished season with 2,886 yards, making him 2nd all-time at Anna Maria for passing yards in a season
  • In his final game of the season, broke the school record for TDs in a season with 27
  • Finished the season leading the league in TDs (27) and passing yards per game (320.4)

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Andrew Liverman (Union City, N.J.), Dean, So., DB
  • Posted a season-high 18 (10 solo) tackles against top-seeded Alfred State
  • His 18 tackles is tied for 14th-most tackles in a single game in DIII
  • Leads the league in tackles per game with 8.5
  • Added a pass breakup to become the conference leader with seven

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ryan Kent (Marlton, N.J.), Anna Maria, Sr., K
  • Went a perfect 7/7 on extra point attempts
  • Also knocked in a field goal on his only attempt
  • Finished the season leading the league on extra points made with 39 (95%)
  • Also led all ECFC kickers in points with 57

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Noah Currier (Oakfield, N.Y.), Alfred State, Fy., RB
  • Had two kick returns for 107 yards, including an 88 yard return for a TD
  • Tacked on six rushes for 131 yards and two more TDs
  • Finished the game with 18 points, 3 TDs and 288 all purpose yards

About the ECFC

The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference was formed in the spring of 2009 as an NCAA Division III single-sport football conference. The conference, named after the geographic location of the institutions began competition in the fall of 2009.

Current members are Alfred State College (Alfred, NY), Anna Maria College (Worcester, MA), Dean College (Franklin, MA), Gallaudet University (Washington, D.C.), and Vermont State Castleton (Castleton, VT.)

The mission of the conference is to:

  1. Promote intercollegiate varsity football as an integral part of the educational experience of all competitors. 
  2. Establish a conference schedule and determine a conference champion that will represent the conference as the automatic qualifier to the NCAA national tournament.
  3. Adopt sportsmanship, fair play, moral integrity, and competitive excellence as cornerstones of the conference.
