MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) weekly awards were announced for games through Sunday, October 17th. Dean quarterback David Curry (Bethlehem, Ga.) earned Offensive Player of the Week while his teammates Dre Kidd (Manassas, Va.) and Mason Dill (Carrolton, Ga.) took home Defensive and Special Teams Player of the Week honors, respectively. Anna Maria wide receiver Deandre Wallace (Waterbury, Conn.) earned Rooke of the Week honors.
David Curry – Dean College
(Junior, QB – Bethlehem, Ga.)
Curry led the Bulldogs to a 39-36 ECFC road win at Keystone on Saturday. Curry went 20-32 for 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He added a 53-yard rushing touchdown and finished with 82 yards on the ground.
Defensive Player of the Week
Dre Kidd – Dean College
(Sophomore, LB – Manassas, Va.)
Kidd turned in another solid performance on the defensive side of the ball for the Bulldogs in a 39-36 road win at Keystone. He led the team with nine tackles and a pair of pass break-ups. He also had an interception and returned it 39 yards.
Rookie of the Week
Deandre Wallace – Anna Maria College
(Sophomore, WR – Waterbury, Conn.)
Wallace continued to produce one of the most electrifying performances by a rookie in the country, tallying five receptions for 90 yards and two scores. Wallace was responsible for both of the AMCATS' second-half scores, including a 48-yard touchdown reception from Cohen with 5:18 to go in the third that would represent the eventual game-winning score. In the past four games, Wallace has posted six touchdowns
Special Teams Player of the Week
Mason Dill – Dean College
(Sophomore, K – Carrolton, Ga.)
Dill made all four of his PATs and added a 36-yard field goal with 4:20 left in the fourth, which proved to be the difference, as the Bulldogs earned a 39-36 road victory at Keystone. He also had seven kickoffs that averaged 47.7 yards.
