PAXTON, MA: The AMCAT football team looks to continue its progress after ending their last season with a big win over Gallaudet University 53-14.

"AMCAT football is ready to take the next step forward as a program. We are more excited than ever to get back out on the field this fall and compete," said head coach Dan Mulrooney. This season should be a turning point for the program, with its largest senior class to date, "Our student-athletes have stayed together and have worked extremely hard. We are heading into the 2021 season with confidence and high expectations for ourselves," said coach Mulrooney. 

This season will consist of nine total contests, with the first three being non-conference games and the final six being Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) matchups. The AMCATS will host five games on Caparso Field this season, starting off with a two game homestand. Opening day will be on September 11th against Nichols College at 12:30 PM. Game two will be against Mass Maritime on September 18th at 1:00 PM. They will conclude their non-conference schedule on the road against Coast Guard Academy on September 25th. 

Anna Maria will enter conference play against ECFC newcomer Keystone college on October 2nd at 12:00 PM. The 'CATS will host their first home conference game against the defending regular season champions Dean College during Homecoming on October 23rd at 1:30 PM. The AMCATS will close out the season with their senior day against Maritime (NY) on November 13th at 1:00 PM. 

Anna Maria football will be tested against Nichols College and NEWMAC competitor Coast Guard Academy, both programs posted winning records in 2019. In conference play, the AMCATS will have a chance to be a top contender this season with the returning seniors that were unable to compete last season due to CIVID-19. After defeating Alfred State and Gallaudet in 2019, the AMCATS look to improve upon their best conference record in program history of 2-3.
