Three Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

MARSHFIELD, Mass. - Three Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) student athletes were recognized by CoSIDA as Academic All-District honorees. Anna Maria College's Hayden Braga (Foster, R.I.), Castleton University's Noah Crossman (North Chittenden, Vt.) and Gallaudet University's Joseph Mendis (Brook Park, Ohio) earned this prestigious distinction.

The 2021 Academic All-District Football Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First, second and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in mid-December.

Anna Maria wide receiver, Hayden Braga, posted a 3.93 G.P.A. as a graduate student majoring in Sports Management. He posted 46 catches on the season for 593 receiving yards and a touchdown over 10 games. 

Castleton kicker Noah Crossman posted a 3.74 G.P.A. as a junior Sport and Science Exercise major. In nine games this season for the Spartans he recorded 49 total points on 9-12 field goals and 26-29 extra points. His long field goal of the year was good from 40 yards. He also averaged 54.8 yards per kickoff attempt. 

Gallaudet running back Joseph Mendis earned a 3.89 G.P.A.as a junior information technology major. He earned ECFC First Team All-Conference recognition as a fullback on 219 rushing yards and four touchdowns. He also played a key role in the Gallaudet blocking game that ranked fourth nationally in overall rushing offense with 322.2 yards per game.
