MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) weekly awards were announced for games through Sunday, October 23rd.  Husson University teammates Cory Brandon (Pembroke, Mass.) and Ellis Throckmorton (Bangor, Maine) earned Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, while Norwich University players Patrick Brown (Pooler, Ga.) and Wesley Medeiros (Gilford, N.H.) were selected as the Rookie and Special Teams Players of the Week for their performances over the weekend.

Brandon threw for a career-high 305 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 15.2 yards per attempt in Husson’s 42-0 win vs. Anna Maria on Saturday. He became the first quarterback to pass for 300 yards in a single-game since Husson revived its football program in 2003, while tying the single-game record for most touchdown passes and setting a new school single-game records for the highest average gain per play (13.5) and highest passing efficiency rating (280.6). Brandon struck for touchdowns of 32, 53, 25, 93 and 21 yards on the day and did not throw an interception. The 93 yard touchdown pass that Brandon threw to Deon Wiggins in the 2nd quarter set new single-game records for the longest touchdown pass and the longest pass reception.

(Senior, LB – Bangor, Maine)

Throckmorton led the Eagle defense with ten total tackles (eight solo), a forced fumble, career-high three sacks for 25 yards, 3.5 tackles for loss and a pair of quarterback hurries as Husson limited Anna Maria to a school-record 37 yards of total offense (minus-12 rushing), three first downs and 2-for-17 on third down in a 42-0 victory on Saturday.

Patrick Brown – Norwich University
(Freshman, RB - Pooler, Ga.)

Brown had an outstanding afternoon for Norwich this past Saturday, recording three rushing touchdowns and netting 168 total yards on the ground to propel his team to a 27-6 victory over Gallaudet. His final touchdown of the day was a career-high 70 yard run, adding insurance down the stretch. Brown leads his team with five rushing touchdowns and currently leads all ECFC freshmen in rushing touchdowns.
