MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) weekly awards were announced for games through Sunday, November 13th.  Husson’s Cory Brandon (Pembroke, Mass.) earned Offensive Player of the Week while Becker’s Alexander Stewart (Gifford, Fla.) earned Defensive Player of the Week. Aaron Conner (Daytona Beach, Fla.) of Norwich and Matt Greenman (Portsmouth, R.I.) of Mount Ida were selected as the Rookie and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, for their performances over the weekend. 

Offensive Player of the Week


Cory Brandon – Husson University
(Sophomore, QB – Pembroke, Mass.)

Brandon threw for 200 yards and five first half touchdowns, tying the single-game record for most touchdown passes in Husson's 54-20 win at Mount Ida on Saturday, helping Husson achieve their first nine-win season in program history. He became the first quarterback in program history to throw for 2,000 yards in a single-season and the first Eagle player to surpass 2,000 yards of total offense in a single-season, while setting new single-season marks for touchdown passes (23), passing completions (140) and touchdowns responsible for with 26 (23 pass, 3 rush). Brandon struck for touchdowns of 11, 8, 8, 42 and 1 yard on the day and did not throw an interception.

Defensive Player of the Week

Alexander Stewart – Becker College
(Senior, DL – Gifford, Fla.)

Stewart helped lead the Hawks to a 31-7 victory over Anna Maria on Saturday. The defensive lineman registered 10 tackles, including six and a half for a loss and four sacks. He also had one pass breakup in his final game in royal and white.

Rookie of the Week

Aaron Conner – Norwich University
(Freshman, RB – Daytona Beach, Fla.)

Receiving carries in a game for only the second time in his career, Conner exploded onto the scene during Saturday's Battle for the Maple Sap Bucket against Castleton. The freshman running back had 11 carries for a whopping 98 yards, including the first two touchdowns of his career. He ultimately netted 117 all-purpose yards for Norwich on Saturday, helping the Cadets to their first rivalry victory over Castleton since the 2013 campaign.

Special Teams Player of the Week


Matt Greenman – Mount Ida College
(Senior, WR – Portsmouth, R.I.)

Greenman was dynamic in his final game as a Mustang, accounting for two long touchdowns, including an 85-yard kickoff return for a score. Greenman returned five kicks for 141 yards, averaging 28.2 yards per return. He also caught an 81 yard touchdown pass down the right sideline to cap off his highlight day in which he accounted for 228 total yards.
