ECFC Weekly Honors for September 14, 2015

Becker's Jacob Holmes OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Holmes had a career day for the Hawks, setting or tying eight program records in leading Becker to a 37-26 win over MIT. Holmes averaged 13.6 yards per carry en route to 232 rushing yards and 279 all-purpose yards. His 93-yard touchdown run in the third quarter is the longest run of the season by any collegiate football player in the country at any level. In addition to his historic day on the ground, Holmes also had three field goals and four extra points for a school single-game record of 13 kicking points. With three touchdowns, Holmes accounted for 31 of the Hawks' 37 points points, establishing the high-water mark at any level in 2015. Season Stats 


Husson's Kenny Sweet DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Kenny Sweet, Husson
(Jr, FS - Portland, Maine)
Sweet totaled three interceptions, tying the school's single-game record set by Adam Scott and Chad Bennett (twice), all done in 2004. Sweet's 100 yards on interception returns is second most in a game next to Scott. His 225 career return yards are now most in school history, breaking Scott's previous mark of 210. Season Stats

 

 

 

Maritime's Diogo Dietrich SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

(Sr, K - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)
Senior placekicker Diogo Dietrich connected on another pair of long-range field goals, converting from 42 and a season-long 47 yards, while also adding an extra point for a team-leading seven points. Dietrich missed out on re-setting the school record for longest field goal, as he narrowly missed out on a 52-yard attempt by less than a yard in the opening quarter of Friday's matchup against Mass. Husson's Elvin Suazo ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Elvin Suazo, Husson
(Fr, DE - Lincoln, N.Y.)
Suazo tied for a team-high five tackles in helping Husson limit the Alfred State offense to just 41 yards of total offense and six first downs. The Eagle defense also forced four turnovers and held Afred State to 1-for-17 on third down. Season Stats
