Gallaudet Reaches Sweet 16 of Helmet Bowl

WASHINGTON - Gallaudet University, the defending Helmet Bowl national champions, finished in the top 16 nationally in Helmet Bowl II presented by Helmet Tracker. The Bison were the No. 3 seed in the East Region and fell in voting to No. 2 seed Lafayette College in the third round. 

Gallaudet's helmet won Eastern Collegiate Football Conference for the second straight year and was seeded third in the East Region. In the first round, GU dispatched No. 14 seed Alvernia (51 percent to 49 percent) in a rematch of the 2018 season-opener between the two schools. In the second round, Gallaudet came back from being down 44 percent to 56 percent to beat No. 12 seed Saint Augustine (51 percent to 49 percent).

The Dickinson Red Devils from Division III Centennial Conference is squaring up against Division I Tulsa, Oklahoma from the American Athletic Conference in the National Championship.
