Maritime (N.Y.) also took home a pair of honors this week – Michael Maringelli (Wantagh, N.Y.) earned Rookie of the Week, while teammate Karl Riek (Sweetwater, N.J.) was tabbed Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance over the weekend.

All of Smith’s yards came in the first half of Husson’s 70-13 victory over Anna Maria. Saturday also marked the fourth time in his career that he has rushed for 150 yards or more and scored four touchdowns in a single-game, the most in program history.

Defensive Player of the Week

In addition, Gabriel recorded two forced fumbles, 1.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, and had team-high seven total tackles, all seven were solo tackles as Husson smothered the AMCATS to the tune of just 193 yards of total offense, 28 net yards rushing, while allowing just 3.3-yards gained per play.
