Pioneers Football Headed to the NCAA Tournament

Alfred, NY - For the first time in program history, the Alfred State football team was one of the 32 schools that made it to the NCAA championship, as announced by the national office Sunday evening.

The Pioneers finished the season with a 6-4 overall record and a 3-1 record in conference play to win the ECFC title and earn the automatic qualifying bid.

This season the Pios averaged 341.4 yards per game while scoring 32.1 points per game. Jake Palmer leads the offense with 15 touchdowns this season, while Jazir Francois is right behind him with ten touchdowns.

On the defensive side of the ball, the senior Jeremiah Nixon tallied 69 tackles and two sacks. Jalen White led the team in sacks with 5.5 while also adding 51 tackles.

The Pioneers will travel to Alliance, OH to take on the Mount Union Purple Raiders this Saturday with a time TBA.
