MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) weekly awards were announced for games through Sunday, October 13th.  Alfred State’s Ronnie Clark (Philadelphia, N.Y.) took home Offensive Player of the Week, while Anna Maria’s Tyshawn Anderson (Lynn, Mass.) was named Defensive Player of the Week. Dean freshman Desmond Dias (Rochester, Mass.) earned Rookie of the Week and Castleton’s Chris Rice (Bethel, Conn.) garnered Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

Offensive Player of the Week

Ronnie Clark – Alfred State
(Sophomore, RB – Philadelphia, N.Y.)

Clark had a big day as he carried the ball 31 times for 197 yards on Saturday. He averaged 6.4 yards per carry and had a long of 33 yards. The sophomore running back rushed for a touchdown from 13-yards out in the 1st quarter to give the Pioneers the early lead.

Defensive Player of the Week

Tyshawn Anderson – Anna Maria College
(Sophomore, DB - Lynn, Mass.)

Anderson played a huge role defensively for the AMCATS getting critical stops to complete a 21-20 comeback win against Alfred State on Saturday. Anderson was one tackle shy of tying an AMCAT record for number of tackles in an individual game, finishing with 24 total tackles. Of those 24 tackles, Anderson had 16 solos and recorded three tackles for a loss of seven total yards. The sophomore defensive back also recovered his own forced fumble late in the 4th quarter, leading to the game-winning touchdown.

Rookie of the Week

Desmond Dias - Dean College
(Freshman, LB - Rochester, Mass.)


Dias was a key force in the Bulldogs first win of the season, racking up a career-best 11 tackles (8 solo). The freshman linebacker also collected his first career sack along with a pair of tackles for loss as Dean beat Maritime 28-10 on Saturday.

Special Teams Player of the Week

Chris Rice – Castleton University
(Junior, DL - Bethel, Conn.)

Rice had a big day once more for Castleton, blocking a field goal against Gallaudet on Saturday to end a Bison drive deep in Spartan territory. He also added four tackles (0.5 TFL) defensively.
