MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) weekly awards were announced for games through Sunday, October 6th. Anna Maria teammates Tyshawn Anderson (Lynn, Mass.) and David Robinson (Boston, Mass.) were named Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively. Alfred State quarterback Dashown Wilson took home Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Offensive Player of the Week
Dashown Wilson - Alfred State
(Senior, QB - Bronx, N.Y.)
Wilson accounted for all five touchdowns in the Pioneers 34-13 victory over Keystone. The senior QB rushed 33 times for 211 yards and three scores - he was also 12 for 23 for 143 yards and two scores.
Defensive Player of the Week
Tyshawn Anderson – Anna Maria College
(Sophmore, DB - Lynn, Mass.)
Anderson was all over the field for the AMCATS compiling 14 total tackles with 7 solo and 7 assisted. He was also able to record a sack for a 10-yard loss, and force a fumble.
Rookie of the Week
Davis Robinson - Anna Maria College
(Freshman, WR - Boston, Mass.)
Robinson was the biggest threat downfield for the AMCATS catching 4 passes for 85 yards and 2 scores this past Saturday. He averaged 21.3 yards a catch and had a long of 35 yards.
