MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) weekly awards were announced for games through Sunday, October 14th.  Husson University teammates Cory Brandon (Pembroke, Mass.) and Ty Bassett (Dracut, Mass.) were named Offensive Player of the Week and Special Teams Player of the Week, respectively. Maritime (N.Y.) teammates Justin Snuffer (Maple Shade, N.J) and Nicholas Morman (Covington, La.) took home Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively.

Offensive Player of the Week

Cory Brandon – Husson University
(Senior, QB – Pembroke, Mass.)

Brandon went 17-of-19 through the air - an 89.5 completion percentage, breaking his previous single-game record of 88.2 last season - with four touchdowns to help lead Husson to their 19th straight conference victory on Saturday. He threw for 303 yards - an average of 17.8 yards per attempt - for his third career 300-yard passing game - the most in program history - leaving him with a single-game record passing rating of 292.9. The Pembroke, Mass. native struck for touchdowns of 53, 47, 43, and 16 yards on the afternoon.

Defensive Player of the Week

Justin Snuffer - Maritime (N.Y.)
(Junior, DB - Maple Shade, N.J.)

Snuffer was a big part of the Maritime defense that only allowed seven points against Dean College on Saturday afternoon. The Maple Shade, NJ native intercepted a first quarter pass and returned it 66 yards to give the Privateers a huge momentum boost on homecoming. Later in the game, Snuffer intercepted his second pass of the afternoon on the one-yard line to keep the Bulldogs under ten points. He also tallied six tackles in the win.

Rookie of the Week

Nicholas Morman - Maritime (N.Y.)
(Freshman, RB – Covington, La.)

Morman gave the Privateers an excellent game on Saturday afternoon in a 35-7 win over Dean College. Morman picked up 74 yards receiving on six catches, including a 40-yard touchdown. He also tallied 21 yards rushing in the homecoming win.

Special Teams Player of the Week

Ty Bassett - Husson University
(Senior, WR– Dracut, Mass.)

The dual-threat of Bassett put Husson up for good after Alfred State took their first lead over the Eagles in over 12 quarters on back-to-back touchdowns in the first half, but it only lasted for 14 seconds, as Bassett returned the proceeding kickoff 82 yards to the house. The 82-yard kickoff return was Bassett's second of the season to take sole possession for the most in a single-season and his third career kickoff return touchdown, giving him the most in program history. Bassett also caught three passes for 25 yards and ran for 18 yards on two carries to finish the Eagles' 19th straight conference victory with 125 yards of all-purpose.
