2014 ECFC All-Conference Teams Announced

The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference announced its 2014 all-conference teams following a vote of the conference coaches. A total of 91 student-athletes received recognition after the completion of the regular season.

Senior wide receiver Kevin Alberque was named Offensive Player of the Year while Husson's Stephan Dance earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. Maritime sophomore kicker Diogo Dietrich was named the ECFC Special Teams Player of the Year. Husson's Alex Young was named the ECFC Offensive Lineman of the Year while teammate John Smith was selected as the Rookie of the Year.

ECFC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Castleton wide receiver Kevin Alberque earned Offensive Player of the Year honors. The senior led the entire conference in receptions (53), yards (861) and was second in touchdowns. The wide out also added 209 yards rushing and three rushing touchdowns. Alberque ranked 17th nationally with 165.8 all-purpose yards per game and is the only player in the nation with at least 200 rushing yards, 200 receiving yards, 200 punt return yards and 200 kick return yards. 

ECFC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Husson senior defensive back Stephan Dance earned ECFC Defensive Player of the Year honors. Dance accounted for 6.9 tackles per game along with four pass breakups, two interceptions and a forced fumble leading a defense that allowed just 17.4 points per contest.

ECFC SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Maritime junior kicker Diogo Dietrich was named the ECFC Special Teams Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Dietrich ranked eighth nationally averaging 1.44 field goals per game. The junior converted 13 of 16 field goal attempts including four between 40-49 yards with a long of 49.

ECFC OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE YEAR
Husson senior Alex Young anchored an offensive line that gained a league best 365 yards per game. Young led the way for an Eagle attack that rushed for 215 yards per game and protected for a passing offense that threw for 150 yards per contest.

ECFC ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
Husson first year running back John Smith led the conference during league play averaging 162 yards per game on the ground, for a league best 6.6 yards per carry, while scoring 13 rushing touchdowns.

ECFC COACH OF THE YEAR
Husson head coach Gabby Price was honored as the ECFC Coach Of The Year award after leading the Husson to the ECFC title with a 7-0 conference mark and an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championship. During his second stint leading the Eagles, Husson went from 0-10 (2011) and 1-9 (2012) the two years prior to Price's return to 8-1 this season becoming the first ECFC team to host an NCAA Division III tournament game.

ECFC all-conference selections are determined by a vote of the conference coaches. Additional players honored are due to ties in the voting.
