ECFC Weekly Honors for October 15, 2012

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Kris Sabourin, Norwich
(Sr, QB - Georgia, Vt.)
Kris Sabourin threw for four touchdowns to four different receivers for 284 yards and rushed for 127 yards on 16 carries to lead the Cadets to a come-from-behind 34-24 win over the Bison of Gallaudet University. Sabourin, who last week broke the all-time career rushing record at Norwich, had his second record-breaking performance in as many weeks as his 411 total offensive yards sets the new single-game program record.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Cody TanCreti, Castleton
(Sr, DB - Hartland, Vt.)
TanCreti made his presence felt in Castleton's 45-13 win over Becker. The senior helped stake the Spartans to a 45-0 lead with a school-record three interceptions, one pass break up and two tackles. His first interception came in Castleton's own endzone, abruptly ending the Hawks' chance to get on the board. His second was at his own two-yard line while the third occurred near midfield.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Tony Tatum, Gallaudet
(Sr, DB - Gardendale, Ala.)
Tatum returned four punts and tallied 106 return yards including a 54-yard touchdown in the second quarter as Gallaudet took an early 14-0 lead over Norwich in an ECFC game at home. Tatum averaged 26.5 yards per return and fielded all of his returns in the first 16 minutes of the game. He also had a return of 32 yards in the first quarter.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Diogo Dietrich, Maritime (N.Y.)
(Fr, K - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)
Dietrich accounted for six points for Maritime as the Privateers defeated Anna Maria, 42-21, Saturday afternoon on the road. The freshman was a perfect 6-for-6 on PAT kicks. He also helped keep the Anna Maria offense from starting drives in good field position by amassing a total of 420 yards on seven kickoffs for an average of 60.0 yards per kick.
