ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Robert Small, Anna Maria College
(FR, RB - Tarrytown, N.Y.)
Small set several program records this week for the AMCATS,
rushing for 256 yards on just 24 attempts for an average of 10.7
yards per carry. He also added four receptions for 51 yards and
scored two touchdowns on runs of 74 and 80 yards. His 307
all-purpose yards was the most impressive offensive performance in
program history.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Scott Drosendahl, Mount Ida
College
(So., QB - East Aurora, New York)
Mount Ida College sophomore quarterback Scott Drosendahl led the
Mustangs to their third Eastern Collegiate Football Conference
(ECFC) victory with a 22-16 win over hosting Gallaudet. Drosendahl
went 22-34 passing for 288 yards through the air with an eight yard
touchdown strike to Michael Cloutier and one pick. With four
minutes remaining in the game Drosendhal scored on an eight yard
quarterback keeper to give the Mustangs the ECFC victory over the
Bison. The sophomore led a comeback down 16-8 after the exit of
standout running back Johrone Bunch. Drosendahl also filled in as
the punter for the injured Bunch.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Keith Barnes, Maritime College
(So., LB - Westbury, N.Y./Westbury)
Barnes led the Privateers with nine total tackles in the 23-0 win
over Becker on Saturday. The 6-0, 240-pounder had 3.5 tackles for
combined losses of 13 yards, including a game-high two sacks. He
also kept the Becker quarterback on his toes with one QB hurry.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kevin McCoy, Anna Maria College
(FR, S - Springfield, Mass.)
Kevin McCoy became the first AMC player in the program's young
history to return a kick for a touchdown with a 69-yard return
versus Castleton State this Saturday. The return was a key play,
tying the game with just over three minutes left in the first
half.
